, closer to highway 5. that rain and snow mix in the sierra nevada. tahoe valley airport, 35 degrees with some snow but we are into the upper 30s in truckie with some rain. still an advisory above 6500 feet here until 10:00 this morning. temperatures right now in the lower 40s in the cool spots and the north bay valleys. that's where we have the fog. santa rosa, winds are calm. 45 napa. 53 in the city across the bay and 52 san jose. you are right, if you think it feels cooler out there, as much as 14 degrees cooler up in santa rosa. five degrees cooler this morning than yesterday morning in oakland, san francisco and san jose eight degrees of cooling since that frontal pass am. the possibility of a dengering shower this morning. otherwise partial clearing this afternoon. that means we will see some sunshine and showers will return late tuesday into wednesday. this system looks not as strong as the within we had last night. maybe about a quarter to half-inch of rain. but it does look it it will outf merely wednesday in time for the travel day and giving us a dry end of the work week,

states, iowa, montana, nevada, and utah, two of them are going to be watched really closely. those, of course, are iowa and nevada. the "real clear politics" polling average in iowa right now shows president obama ahead by two and in nevada president obama ahead by 2.7. then later in the night at 11:00 p.m. and then 1:00 a.m., we'll have california, hawaii, idaho, oregon, washington, and then the last poll closing in alaska. unless this is a very strange night, those races will be interesting for governors races and senate and house races and state issues, but not necessarily for the presidency. unless things go very, very differently than expected to go. this is how your election viewing is going to unfold hour by hour on tuesday night. if you just exclude the states for the presidential race where everybody pretty much knows exactly how it's going to go and just the states where there is some question as to what's going to happen, here is a clip and save thing for you about these states. the battlegrounds. all right? states that you know are going to be important and everybody th

look at the states, look at florida, colorado, you look at nevada, you could even argue iowa, but state after state, the latino vote, if you take it out, the democrats would have lost, even in florida, it was 61-39 including the cubans. cuban-americans are not no longer the majority in florida among latinos, but the younger generations of cuban-americans vote like puerto rican or dominican voters, not the anti-castro parents and grandparents. asian-americans, that was the biggest shift. 75-25 for obama. i remember covering the 2000 race. gore and bush. i think bush won the asian-american vote before september 11th, asian-american was a swing vote leaning republican. yesterday, it was 3-to-1 democratic. urban-rural, it's -- mirror images. it's roughly 60-40, and demographically, which areas are growing, the urban areas or rural america? you wouldn't want to bet on rural america. to be your population center going ahead. young and old, it's, again, the youngest voters are the most pro-obama, although i will say that the 18-21 voters are less pro-obama than the people slightly older than t

conditions so check your flights ahead of time. in sierra nevada, snowfall accompanying this system. the rest of the united states and off towards canada, high pressure is dominating. temperatures remaining cool. chicago's the high temp, winnipeg at minus 8, but these temperatures are expected to rebound back up for your weekend. towards europe, a low-pressure area spinning off the coast of portugal. that's going to move towards the east bringing rain showers with it, even gusty winds at times, particularly this one in the middle of the mediterranean. this is bringing some heavy rain showers across southern portions of italy, thunderstorms accompanied with that and flashflooding, and the northern tip of africa is seeing heavy rain showers here, about 60 to 90 millimeters was reported in the past 24 hours. so this is bringing plenty of rain, but north of that, high pressure is dominating much of central and eastern europe. this is bringing some fair weather with it. temperatures remaining on the cool side, though. berlin with a high of 4, warsaw at 6, moscow at 5 here to start off your weekend

to the sierra nevada. those open are braille, heavenly, north wood, and valley. alpine meadows will open on december 7. >>> and there's another winter storm coming in for tuesday and wednesday into the sierra, but know levels will be relatively high to start. they will fall as we get through the rest of the system, but it looks like at 6,000 feet, it might be all rain. here's a live look at the golden gate bridge. clouds. into the evening hours, but some breaks of sunshine as we go into the day tomorrow. right now, temperatures mild in the 50s for alameda, san francisco, san jose 55 degrees. low 50s for fairfield. so look for the clouds and some patchy fog in the north bay valleys. it could be dense around santa rosa. one of the popular spots for fog. now tomorrow, there could be a few more light showers for sonoma county. in tuesday, we will see partly sunny skies, but the clouds will thicken. by evening, the next system arrives with a chance for rain expected to go into thursday morning. good now news, though, looks like only a tenth of an inch for that system. here is the one for ton

chilly and santa rosa and nevada. is about 45 degrees in san jose. it will warm- up to low 70's. it will upper 7e coast. the north bay is expecting low 70's abou73 about 73 degrees for santa rosa. as we take a look at satellite we have been filling the warm front weekend. we will not get rain from this it would just usher and cool air. we do have rain in the forecast. >> holiday shopping season is well under way with more than $11 billion exchanging hands. for this is a positive economic. thousands of people packed into the downtown area not only to find bargains but to see the lighting of this tree. as we mentioned there is plenty of shopping bags to be seen family stocking up on clothes and electronics the nearby center opened at 5:00 a.m. on friday morning. one shopper stated that she has been planning for this day and it was worthwhile. shopping was great and it has been terrific. i am staying at st. francis so i can shop all day long. everybody has been really great and friendly. we found everything that we needed. >> there were plenty of shopping bags to be seen in humans
